Scouting Report: Riley Reiff

OT Riley Reiff

Height: 6’6

Weight: 300

Projection: Top 10

Reiff is in the classic Iowa OL mold of a player who is big strong and understands the fundamental of how to block…He is light on his feet and does a good job using his footwork to stay balanced and in front of his assignment…He’s very strong at the point of attack…Has good field awareness and an understanding of defensive schemes and blitzes…Is a dominant LT prospect who stonewalls most of his opponents…Effective as both a run blocker and pass blocker…Has the ideal size and length you want out of your LT…Uses his long arms effective to lock the defender out and once that happens its play over.

He is not the elite level athlete that some teams crave at LT…He does not always finish his blocks the way we would of liked to see…He is not the kind of player who you’re going to see pushing his man off your TV screen consistently when drive blocking…Can get too high out of his two point stance and can lose the leverage battle…At times he can get complacent and beaten on a rush.
