CB Janoris Jenkins Scouting Report

CB Janoris Jenkins-North Alabama

Height: 5’10

Weight:191 lbs.

Grade: 7.5 MXH (Grading Scale)

Draft Projection: Round 2

Strengths:

Has lock down coverage ability…has smooth hips and makes the transition from back pedal to sprint looks easy…reads the QB’s eyes when sitting back in zone coverage and will close on hitch and slant routes…is aggressive when the ball is in the air…not afraid of going up against bigger WR’s…almost seems to relish the opportunity to press them…terrific athlete who is a dangerous players whenever he can get his hands on the football…was a dynamic punt returner both at Florida and at North Alabama.

Weaknesses:

Has some off the field concerns that led to his eventual dismissal from Florida…wound up at the University of North Alabama in Division II and for the most part spent an entire year being avoided by opposing offenses…when he was thrown at he looked to be caught off guard and at times appeared to get lackadaisical in his coverage…Jenkins has lots of questions to answer, especially when he got kicked out of a game this year v. Delta State for fighting…Jenkins height will be a question mark for teams who see him with lockdown coverage skills but have to wonder about him giving up five to six inches to some WR’s.
