CB Josh Norman Scouting Report

CB Josh Norman-Coastal Carolina

Height: 6’0

Weight: 203 lbs.

Projection: 4th Round

Grade: 6.7 L (Grading Scale)

Strengths:

Norman has tremendous instincts…he jumps routes with surprising efficiency…he has tons of athletic ability and is able to close quickly…his hips are loose which allow him to stay with WR’s out of their breaks…has nice ball skills and goes after each pass like they were thrown to him and not the WR…is physical in press coverage and shows great technique in his hand placement…really causes the WR to redirect his route and ruins any timing…had an excellent week of practice at the Shrine Game.

Weaknesses:

Not as polished with his footwork as you would like…can take a misstep in coverage and lose his balance which causes him to slow down and give up separation…can get caught being overly aggressive in his attempts to make plays…will bit on play-action and double moves and he must learn to stay more disciplined in coverage…a bit wild in his tackling technique, will need to shore up his fundamentals if he hopes to be as successful tackling in the pros as he was in college.
