WR Chris Givens Scouting Report

WR Chris Givens-Wake Forest

Height: 6’0

Weight: 195 lbs.

Grade: 6.8 (Grading Scale)

Projection: Round 3

Strengths:

Has outstanding body control down the field…elevates for balls very well and does a good job to high point passes…physical build which allows him to mix it up with DB’s and fight for position…has strong hands which allow him to make tough catches in traffic…shows great concentration in watching the ball all the way…when given off coverage he has small fakes that he will use to sell the CB on one route while he is running another…may be one of the better route runners in terms of covering them up..runs a well developed tree and really stems his routes effectively…

Weaknesses:

Athletically he doesn’t compare to some of the top tier WR’s…doesn’t do a great job getting into his routes early and could struggle against consistent press coverage on the outside…take a few strides to get to top speed and we wonder about the suddenness part of his routes…looks a bit stiff in his hips and seems to have to slow down once reaching top speed to make a cut or break…this will clue the DB in too often and give him a chance to make a break on a pass…he’ll need to show something in workouts to prove he’s a guy who can get separation in the NFL.
