WR Reuben Randle Scouting Report

WR Reuben Randle-LSU

Height: 6’4

Weight: 208 lbs.

Grade: 7.4 (Grading Scale)

Projection: Round 1

Strengths:

Showcases ideal hands for the WR position…routinely catches the ball out away from his body, and almost never struggles with drops that plagued other LSU WR’s through the years…does a good job tracking the deep ball over his shoulder…has great size for the WR position and has a frame that should allow him to add some more weight…has good speed for the position and uses his long stride to quickly eat up cushions…isn’t physically imposing despite his size but shows great balance v. the press and the ability to get off the bump very quickly…will sell his deeper routes with his head fakes forcing the CB to open his hips before he breaks the route off with a comeback.

Weaknesses:

He has a very underdeveloped route tree specifically on the 1, 2, 3, and 4 routes…Seems to have been worked so that he could be a deep threat but hasn’t seen a ton of reps working in the underneath or intermediate zone…Questions exist about his separation ability in the NFL and deep speed…he doesn’t accelerate all that well and he needs to become more precise in his breaks in order to separate…not sure how much he’ll offer in terms of YAC…he does not possess the quick area burst that will make the defender miss…will need to continue to work on his blocking in the open field…we would like to see him get more aggressive in every aspect of his game…he has the size and speed to dominate, the question is when will he realize it and when will he want to do something about it?

Notes:
