Buffalo’s dream Free Agency is quickly becoming a nightmare

Despite being in Buffalo for a visit tonight, Meachem has agreed to terms with San Diego on a four year deal

In what may have started off as the dream scenario for our Buffalo Bills may have quickly gone into a full on nightmare. What started with reports that both DE Mario Williams and WR Robert Meachem were going to visit the Bills has now ended in what is quickly becoming the worst possible way.

After reports surfaced from multiple outlets that both players would be signed in the next 24 hours have now been proven false. Earlier tonight NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported Mario Williams would not sign tonight, and as if that wasn’t enough to put an already pessimistic fan base on edge it has now become official that Robert Meachem who was also in Buffalo has agreed to a four year deal with the San Diego Chargers.

How this happened, what the differences were, and where the Bills go from here are all valid questions. The obvious answer is that they must not let Mario Williams walk away tomorrow without signing a deal. If that occurs this offseason will be viewed as a disaster not matter what occurs afterwards.

We don’t know who, if anyone, is to blame for this but one thing is quickly becoming clear. The big splash Buddy Nix promised may end up hitting us in our face and there appears to be no way we will be out of free agency by Friday.
