DT DaJohn Harris-USC
Height: 6033
Weight: 306 lbs.
Grade: 6.1 (Grading Scale)
Strengths:
Ideal DT build with a thick lower body and lots of strength and power in his legs…Harris displays a very quick first step which allows him to get out of his stance very quickly…has really shown off some improvements since his junior season, looks stronger, in better shape, and more technically sound…has shown the most improvement when having to work through blocks to get into the backfield…utilizes improved technique including staying low through contact to take advantage of slower interior linemen…Has really improved his bull rush ability and looks to have worked hard to build up his upper body strength to go along with his lower body.
Weaknesses:
Still has too much of a tendency to pop up and give the interior lineman an easy target to engage…needs to work on making himself skinnier when using his power rush moves…limited athlete who is not going to make many plays to the outside, will give effort to chase down ball carrier, but rarely is able to reach player…needed a lot of coaching at USC to get him to become the player he was, had a very inconsistent motor early on and needed to really be motivated his senior season in order to come up as big as he did.
