Come back every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as we choose our five favorite Buffalo Bills and NFL Draft links to share. Feel free to submit your own links in the comments.
1 Breaking down the Buffalo Bills blueprint for using Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller (NFL.com)
Chan Gailey created quite a stir when he suggested the Buffalo Bills could split carries between Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller this fall. This statement certainly caught some by surprise, due to Jackson’s outstanding production as the Bills’ feature back over the past three seasons.
2 Rookie WR TJ Graham signed his deal which means every player is in camp (BuffaloBills.com)
Bills’ third-round pick T.J. Graham took a bit longer to sign than the rest of the team’s 2012 draft class, but with a couple of weeks before training camp the receiver reached an agreement with Buffalo putting all nine draft choices under contract.
3 WR Josh Gordon was the only selection in yesterday’s Supplemental Draft, Going in the 2nd Round to Cleveland (NFL.com)
The Cleveland Browns used a second-round pick in the NFL’s supplemental draft Thursday to select former Baylor and Utah wide receiver Josh Gordon, the league confirmed. The Browns, as a result, forfeit their second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft for the rights to the 6-foot-3, 224-pound Gordon.
4 BYU Junior WR Cody Hoffman is called Master of the Route Tree (Rotoworld via ESPN Insider)
Joyner recalls Hoffman’s bowl game performance against Tulsa where he consistently created separation underneath and downfield, specifically on broken plays when senior quarterback Riley Nelson left the pocket. So many college receiver prospects are height, weight, speed athletes that need to be groomed to the position once reaching the NFL, so this is high praise from Joyner and should set Hoffman apart.
South Carolina featured two first round picks in the 2012 NFL Draft, cornerback Stephon Gilmore and defensive lineman Melvin Ingram. For the 2013 NFL Draft, the Gamecocks just might have two more top picks, although the first round might be stretching it.
