The R+L Carriers Bowl features a match-up of the Ragin Cajuns of UL-Lafayette and the Pirates from East Carolina. The Pirates are a young team featuring a lot of junior talent while the Cajuns have a nice bled of talent from every class level. The Pirates are going to look to assert their aerial attack early and it will be up the Cajuns to solve their defensive passing woes.

East Carolina
84 TE Justin Jones*, 6’6, 258 lbs.
Justin Jones may very well be the best prospect in this game and he’s flying under the radar in part because of the inability of his offense to the get him the ball and because Sophomore Justin Hardy is eating up all his catches. Jones is a big target and can be a big weapon in the middle of the field as Hardy uses his speed to stretch the defense. If the Pirates can find Jones early on it could be a long night for the Rajun Cajuns.

70 OG Will Simmons*, 6’5, 336 lbs.
56 LB Derrell Johnson*, 6’2, 261 lbs.
49 LB Ty Holmes*, 6’1, 228 lbs.
11 SAF Damon Magazu*, 5’11, 203 lbs.

22 CB Melvin White, 6’1, 191 lbs.
Melvin White isn’t a prospect whose going to jump off the stat sheet at you this year but he is one that knows how to cover. White has provided blanket coverage on opponents all year long. The reason he has no picks isn’t because his skills aren’t there but rather because nobody wants to test him. White is an aggressive corner who has the size to come up and be physical. If he can add a little bit more bulk then he will greatly improve his draft opportunities.

85 TE Ian Thompson*, 6’3, 235 lbs.
45 DE Emeka Onyenekwu, 6’3, 250 lbs.
34 LB Justin Anderson*, 6’2, 235 lbs.
2 Jemarlous Moten, 5’11, 175 lbs.
