In the Alamo Bowl you have a team that overachieved during their season, Oregon State, and one that underachieved, during theirs Texas. Both teams had up and down season with QB issues along the way.

Both offenses have the issue of consistency game in and game out. Neither team has a great ground game so expect a good amount of passing from each side. With that in mind Oregon State has the advantage on that side of the ball with a good WR in Wheaton who has caused opposing defenses issues all year.

On defense both teams can make the opposing offense pay. Oregon State had 30 forced turnover’s that was good enough for 12th in the nation. They are a team that puts its players in a position to make plays and when the chance is there they capitalize more often than not. The Texas defense started off slow this year but really came on at the end of the year. It all revolves around their 2 DE’s Okafor and Jeffcoat, if they are locked in the Texas defense becomes much tougher to deal with.

Texas
#4 Kenny Vaccaro S 6’0″ 210 lbs.
It was no secrete last year that the Bills really liked Safety Mark Barron from Alabama last year. Given the drop off in play from G.Wilson this year they were right in their concern for the position. Vaccaro is the do it all Safety that the Bills have lacked for a long time at the SS spot. They often pay for it when facing teams with good TE’s

#26 D.J. Monroe RB 5’9″ 175 lbs.
#84 Marquise Goodwin WR 5’9″ 175 lbs.
#18 D.J. Grant TE 6’3″ 240 lbs.
#80 Alex Okafor DE 6’4½” 260 lbs.
#44 Jackson Jeffcoat DE 6’4″ 250 lbs.*

Oregon State
#2 Markus Wheaton WR 5’11½” 182
He doesn’t have the size that Buddy Nix has said he wanted across from S.Johnson but his talent cant be ignored. Wheaton is a player that just makes plays and in the end that is what the Bills should be looking to add.

#14 Jordan Poyer CB 5’11¾” 182
Like it or not the Bills are going to have to address the CB position again at some point this offseason and Poyer is one to keep an eye on. He is a well rounded CB who has a chance to start from day one on the NFL level. He is also one of those players that is always in the right place at the right time

#82 Colby Prince TE 6’4⅜” 262
#49 Andrew Seumalo DT 6’3⅝” 292
#3 Anthony Watkins S 6’0⅞” 214
#64 Colin Kelly OT 6’4⅜” 299

Prediction: I like Oregon State in a tight game 31-28
