Buffalo Bills select WR Robert Woods (2nd Round – Pick 41)

After taking spending their first round on their next franchise QB the Buffalo Bills decide to add a weapon for him to throw to in WR Robert Woods from USC. Woods is the Bills first of two picks in the 2nd Round.

Robert Woods Scouting Report

Woods is a silky smooth route runner with great hands and under the radar athleticism. He’s not quite the size WR many thought the Bills would select but he is a WR who can play on the outside and should quickly develop in EJ Manuel’s best friend. Woods is a strong route runner who works best under neath and on crossing routes. Woods creates separation getting into and out of his breaks.

The issue with Woods is that he’s just not a great athlete. He lacks ideal speed, size, and strength and his open field quickness is something I have questions about. He really needs to add some size, but I’m not sure his frame will allow for it. The concussion history is also something to monitor.

In the end Woods technician approach to the WR position is refreshing after the Bills striking out on guys like James Hardy and Marcus Easley.
