Mathieu was a terror on the field at all times for LSU putting up 122 tackles, 16 TFL, 6 sacks, 4 INT’s, and 11 FF in two years with the Tigers. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.
However in 2012 things fell apart for Mathieu. He was dismissed from LSU due to a violation of team rules and entered a drug rehab program in Houston, Texas. Mathieu returned to LSU for classes on September 4th, 2012 determined to earn a spot back on the team. However just over a month later on October 25th he was arrested on possession of Marijuana charges.

Any team taking Mathieu on is taking on the risk that comes along with any former addict. The amount of questions that Mathieu will need to answer both on and off the field appears astronomical but despite all of that he’s generated plenty of interest.
The Bills interest in intriguing given the visit of Mike Jenkins later this week and the Bills need to find at least one, if not two, more CB’s before next season. He would be an ideal nickel CB who could play in the box and blitz out of Pettine’s scheme.
The Bills have never been a team that’s willing to take on large character issues but with a player of this caliber is it too much to pass on?
