That’s exactly what I see in many of the senior running backs in the 2014 class. Some of them are situational-type players, but most of them are prospects that could fill the role of a starter who gets selected in the later rounds of the draft and proves to be a tremendous value pick.

Despite not being power conferences, both Conference USA and the Sun Belt Conference have produced their share of NFL talent in recent years. An average of eight players have been selected from C-USA during the last five drafts, including one first-round pick in each of the past two drafts (Memphis defensive tackle Dontari Poe in 2012, Houston cornerback D.J Hayden in 2013). During the same period, the Sun Belt has averaged 4.8 selections with no first-round picks.

While neither conference possesses any surefire first-round caliber prospects for the 2014 NFL draft, Western Kentucky linebacker Andrew Jackson is gaining notoriety heading into the season.

Due to conference realignments, C-USA boasts six new football schools this season while the Sun Belt adds two schools. In this article, we’ll explore some names other than Jackson to watch this season amongst the C-USA and Sun Belt teams.

With an aging Fred Jackson and a pending C.J. Spiller contract negotiation on the horizon by 2016, the Buffalo Bills may targeting a running back in the middle rounds of the 2014 NFL Draft. Two running backs that could be options for the Bills in the middle rounds are former Penn State Nittany Lion turned USC Trojan Silas Redd, and Western Kentucky Hilltopper Antonio Andrews.

Both backs would represent a nice change to the slick and shifty running style of CJ Spiller. Redd and Andrews usually do their between the tackles, and they both have the ability to break tackles and get the tough extra yards. Let’s take a brief look at both players and why they could be Buffalo Bills considerations in the 2014 draft.
