Bowling Green (10-3) enters the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl (Thursday, 6 p.m., ESPN) on a five-game winning streak, including an impressive, 47-27, victory over Northern Illinois in the MAC Championship Game. The Falcons have defeated their opponents by an average 35 points over that five-game stretch, and have defeated their opponent by more than 20 points in all ten of their wins this seasons.

Pittsburgh enters this game with a more talented roster but with a 6-6 record. This will be senior quarterback Tom Savage’s last chance as a Pittsburgh Panther to impress scouts against the nation’s fifth-ranked scoring defense. Additionally, Pittsburgh senior defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been arguably the best defensive player in college football this season.

He received First Team All-MAC honors at the end of his senior year along with being awarded Third Team All-American by the Associated Press. On top of all those awards he was also named MAC defensive player of the year. He played 50 straight games while at Bowling Green and started 44 of those games. He had 19 tackles for loss last year and 12.5 of those were sacks. He graduates from Bowling Green with 28 sacks, 157 total tackles, and 46.5 tackles for loss to his name. (more…)

QB David Fales will be looked at to lead the Spartans without their head coach (Photo: US Presswire)

San Jose State will be without coach Mike MacIntyre who has left the program to go to Colorado. Even without MacIntyre the Spartans are still led by the best QB people have never heard of in David Fales. Fales will be looking to hook up with WR Noel Grigsby who Bowling Green will need to find a way to cover. Bowling Green will try and force pressure on Fales up the middle with Chris Jones along with taking away the running game with ILB Dwayne Woods. Also don’t sleep on QB Matt Schlitz who can beat teams with his arm and feet. (more…)
