As they were with the Buffalo Bills, and previously with Syracuse, Doug Marrone and Nathaniel Hackett will be coaching together again in 2015—albeit in smaller roles than they held with the Bills the past two years.

Hackett was hired Thursday to be the quarterbacks coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who hired Marrone to coach their offensive line last week. Hackett was the Bills’ offensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014, but was replaced by Greg Roman this offseason after Marrone opted out of his contract on New Year’s Eve after two years as the Bills’ head coach.

New Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan continued filling out his coaching staff for the 2015 season Monday, as the Bills officially hired six new assistants while they also retained four coaches from Doug Marrone’s 2014 staff.

Former Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone has a new gig, but probably not the one he envisioned when he opted out of his contract on New Year’s Eve.

On Tuesday, the Jacksonville Jaguars hired Marrone to be their assistant head coach/offensive line, according to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union and John Oehser of Jaguars.com.

Having announced the hirings of Rex Ryan as head coach and Greg Roman as offensive coordinator earlier this week, the Buffalo Bills continued filling out their new coaching staff Thursday, when they announced the hiring of Dennis Thurman as defensive coordinator and seven other men to other assistant coaching roles.

All eight additions to the staff come from the New York Jets, where they worked for Ryan last season.
