The Buffalo Bills weren’t able to come out on top in regulation, but they were able to pull together a win in overtime against the Chicago Bears, on the road, in their 2014 regular season opener.

Buffalo won the turnover battle, three to one, and had overall solid performances from all three of its units: offense, defense and special teams.

What did Buffalo do well to start its season with a one in the W column, and what must it do better to continue winning games and do so without needing overtime? The Buffalo Bills stayed busy on Labor Day in their preparations for their season opener against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. On Monday, the Bills released their first in-season depth chart of the year, announced their six team captains and continued to make additions to their practice squad.

With prolific passing offenses more prevalent than ever in today’s NFL, securing quality secondary personnel is vital to being able to match up with modern aerial attacks. The Buffalo Bills made multiple additions to their secondary this offseason including Corey Graham, an eight-year NFL veteran who signed a four year, $16 million contract as a free agent.

Graham is tasked with challenging Nickell Robey for the team’s nickel cornerback role, while he can also provide depth on the outside and has the versatility to contribute as a safety.
