I cautioned last week that college football Week 3 was when we could see some letdowns. That rang true as USC, Virginia Tech, and Louisville all lost to unranked opponents while No. 6-ranked Georgia fell to No. 24 South Carolina. As more and more conference games are featured on a weekly basis, the importance of avoiding letdowns is at a premium for Football Bowl Subdivision teams wanting to find themselves in the playoffs at season’s end.

An improved slate of games in Week 4 presents some exciting matchups for NFL hopefuls. Putting quality game tape out for scouts is imperative for players looking to be selected in the 2015 draft. There are many players with opportunities to do that this upcoming week.

2015 NFL Draft Prospect to Watch: Denzel Perryman, LB, Miami

Denzel Perryman, who has been at least a part-time starter in all three of his seasons on the Miami defense, took over a full-time role as the Hurricanes middle linebacker in 2013. Perryman relished that opportunity and ended up being the team’s defensive MVP and a first-team all-ACC selection. In his standout junior season, Perryman racked up 108 tackles and five tackles for loss. Across 34 career games with 24 total starts, Perryman has tallied 241 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and an interception.

Teddy Bridgewater, DeVante Parker and Other Prospects to Watch in Russell Athletic Bowl

Although the bowl season spotlight shines brightest after New Year’s Eve, few NFL draft prospects will face higher expectations going into their bowl games than Louisville junior quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, the projected No. 1 overall pick should he declare for the 2014 NFL draft, will when the Cardinals (11-1) play the Miami Hurricanes (9-3) Saturday in the Russell Athletic Bowl (6:45 p.m. ET, ESPN) in Orlando.

Bridgewater will certainly be in the spotlight Saturday evening, . His leading wide receiver, DeVante Parker, is another potential early-round draft selection if he declares for this year’s draft as a junior. His quarterback adversary in this game, Miami’s Stephen Morris, is also an intriguing NFL prospect.
