Having been forced to move the game from Western New York, the Buffalo Bills’ Week 12 game against the New York Jets—previously scheduled to be a home contest Sunday in Ralph Wilson Stadium—will instead be played at Detroit’s Ford Field at 7 p.m. Monday, the NFL announced Thursday night.

It won’t be much of a home game for the Bills anymore; the drive from Buffalo to Detroit is more than four hours and 250 miles away, according to Google Maps.

That said, the NFL had no choice but to move the game away from Orchard Park, as Ralph Wilson Stadium was filled more than 220,000 tons of snow as of Wednesday, according to Bills vice president of operations and guest experience Andy Major, via BuffaloBills.com.

Six days after placing safety Kenny Ladler on injured reserve and opening a roster spot, the Buffalo Bills filled his place on the 53-man roster by adding another undrafted rookie safety, Jerome Couplin, off waivers from the Detroit Lions.

On the surface, the signing of Couplin seems inglorious. Unselected in this year’s draft out of William and Mary, Couplin appeared in eight games for the Lions this season but made just two tackles, with nearly all of his playing time coming on special teams.

That said, Couplin’s potential to develop into an impact player has been noted by numerous sources.

The Buffalo Bills won a roller-coaster game Sunday, with a 14-point comeback over the Detroit Lions that was the team’s first double-digit comeback win since beating the New England Patriots in Week 3 of the 2011 season. The effort to win that game started last Monday, when the Bills announced a quarterback change.

In what I would have to think was at least a semi-intentional troll job, the Detroit Lions played the Foo Fighters classic “My Hero” through the loudspeakers of Ford Field after new Buffalo Bills starting quarterback and Dave Grohl look-alike Kyle Orton led the Bills to their first touchdown of the game early in the fourth quarter.

Ultimately, however, it was a kicker who looks like Kid Rock who was the hero for Buffalo on Sunday, as Dan Carpenter made a 58-yard field goal — the second-longest made kick in team history — with just four seconds remaining to propel to the Bills to a 17-14 victory, improving their record to 3-2 for the season.
