2014 NFL Mock Draft: Round 4 Projections

Saturday, May 10th, 2014

It’s the final day of the 2014 NFL draft, and Day 3 is typically the most unpredictable of all. Players who were projected to be drafted higher often tend to continue falling for one reason or another, while teams will start to stump even some of the most educated media draftniks with hidden small-school gems.

Even so, there’s plenty of talent still on the draft board, and there’s players at positions across the board who would seemingly be great fits for specific teams in Round 4.

After two additional weeks of speculation, through which many have expressed agony and anxiety, the eve of the 2014 NFL Draft is finally upon us. And yet, even with the extra 14 days to figure it all out, it still seems as though no one—even the teams themselves—really knows what’s going to happen when the draft begins Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET.

Despite everyone’s best efforts, there will ultimately be trades made and players picked throughout the draft at spots no one saw coming. Nonetheless, here is my final shot at educatedly projecting who will go where with all 256 picks of this year’s selection meeting.

2014 Buffalo Bills Draft Projections: “3 for 3″ Post-Free Agency Mock

Friday, April 11th, 2014

Though it took a little longer than the first installment of the series, the second edition of Pro Football Focus’ “3 For 3” mock draft series recently took place over the course of a couple weeks. Like the first mock, which was held just following the NFL Scouting Combine in early March, I continued to act as the drafter in charge of the Buffalo Bills.

There was no need to do anything different with the No. 9 overall pick, as a player who fills one of Buffalo’s biggest needs—and just might be the best all-around player in the draft—was still available as a right tackle upgrade.

On Day 2, the Bills were forced to change course. While BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy and Stanford guard David Yankey might have been the selections once again as they represent great values in the draft’s second and third rounds, both were rightfully selected earlier this time around.

2014 Buffalo Bills Draft Projections: “3 for 3″ Post-Combine Mock

As the name would suggest, Pro Football Focus’ “3 For 3” mock draft series is to consist of three projections, each three rounds, of the 2014 NFL draft. In a more accurate and realistic simulation than one person writing a mock draft on his own, the selections are made by 32 football writers, one representing each team, who select each of their respective team’s picks in the first three rounds.

I have the privilege of selecting for the Bills in each of the three mocks, the first of which was held over the past week following this year’s NFL Scouting Combine. Personally, I came away thrilled with all three of my selections for Buffalo, as I feel as though I got terrific value on all of them, but I’ll have to let you the reader be the judge.

Sammy Watkins: Scouting Report for Potential First-Round Buffalo Bills Target

Wednesday, January 15th, 2014

The Buffalo Bills have plenty of options in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft. The easiest philosophy for the Bills to follow would be drafting the best player available. If Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins is on the board at the No. 9 overall pick, the Bills would be hard-pressed to find a better player.
