Waiver Wire Pickups

Carson Palmer, QB, Arizona Cardinals (Owned in 50% of Yahoo! Leagues): Palmer has been on a roll since returning from injury (832 yards passing, six TDs, one INT in three games). He threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to John Brown to win the game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and he has no shortage of weapons. Palmer should be owned in all leagues as a backup quarterback and quick, before someone else scoops him up.

Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals (68% Y!): Dalton has only thrown for 1600 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games this season. Dalton is not playing at the level everyone expected him to play at and his fantasy value has suffered because of that. But he may be getting back A.J. Green this week, which can definitely improve Dalton’s stock. Dalton also ran for two rushing touchdowns on Sunday. In Week 9, he is playing the Jacksonville Jaguars, a very favorable matchup. If you need a streamer quarterback this week, add Dalton.

Waiver Wire Pick-Ups

Mike Glennon, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Owned in 6% of Yahoo! Leagues): With Josh McCown out and Glennon having a five-to-two touchdown-to-interception ratio, Glennon would be a good add this week for those needing to replace Drew Brees on bye. Expect him to be a solid QB2 option each and every week considering how unstable their run game is right now and how much they are likely to be playing from behind.

Brian Hoyer, QB, Cleveland Browns (5% Y!): Despite many raving for Johnny Manziel to be the starting quarterback, Hoyer has been better than decent so far for the Cleveland Browns, with more than 1,000 yards passing and a six-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio, despite having few weapons outside of oft-injured tight end Jordan Cameron. When Cameron gets healthy and Josh Gordon returns in Week 12, expect Hoyer to put up even better numbers. He could be a high-end QB2 come fantasy playoffs time.

Branden Oliver, RB, San Diego Chargers (14% Y!): With Donald Brown now concussed, Ryan Mathews out with a knee injury and Danny Woodhead done for the year with a broken ankle, Oliver will be the lead back in San Diego until Brown and/or Matthews get healthy. After he ran for more than 100 yards and scored rushing and receiving touchdowns against a tough New York Jets run defense, he is a must-add who could easily have another great week as he has an easy matchup against the Oakland Raiders.
