Including this week, there are only five weeks remaining in the season that feature a full slate of games. The conference standings are shaping up and there is no margin for error for the many one-loss teams with aspirations of making the College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, the opportunities for 2015 NFL draft prospects to make a name for themselves are dwindling down.

I cautioned last week that college football Week 3 was when we could see some letdowns. That rang true as USC, Virginia Tech, and Louisville all lost to unranked opponents while No. 6-ranked Georgia fell to No. 24 South Carolina. As more and more conference games are featured on a weekly basis, the importance of avoiding letdowns is at a premium for Football Bowl Subdivision teams wanting to find themselves in the playoffs at season’s end.

An improved slate of games in Week 4 presents some exciting matchups for NFL hopefuls. Putting quality game tape out for scouts is imperative for players looking to be selected in the 2015 draft. There are many players with opportunities to do that this upcoming week.

When the Buffalo Bills drafted Dustin Hopkins in the 6th round (No. 177 overall) of the 2013 NFL draft, it meant that Rian Lindell’s job was in danger. After spending his entire rookie season on injured reserve, however, it’s his job that’s in danger going into the 2014 season.

With a draft class that had been heralded as deep by people both inside and outside the league, we knew all along that there would be talented players to go unselected in the 2014 NFL draft.

Putting together an annual All-Undrafted team can be a challenge some years, as there are typically at least a couple positions where the well of draftable talent had run dry. Not this year. The difficult part of selecting this year’s best undrafted players wasn’t finding players worthy of the recognition, but rather deciding which players to leave off.

The following selections represent the prospects who bring the best skill sets and potential to the next level among the undrafted pool. That doesn’t necessarily mean they have the best chances to make the rosters of the teams who signed team, as some players have entered more favorable depth charts than others, but all of these players have enough ability to build a sustained NFL career.
