Florida State interior offensive lineman Josue Matias is expected to be one of the top guards selected in the 2015 NFL draft. He opted out of this year’s Senior Bowl, taking away the opportunity for scouts to comparing him in live action alongside many of the other top senior guard prospects in this year’s class, but he still has a chance to be a high draft pick.

Currently, there aren’t any players in the NFL who were born in the Dominican Republic. Matias, who came to the U.S. at six years old, stands to be the first. A force in New Jersey high school football and then for the Seminoles, Matias has the tools to continue to be successful at the next level.

Including this week, there are only five weeks remaining in the season that feature a full slate of games. That rang true as USC, Virginia Tech, and Louisville all lost to unranked opponents while No. 6-ranked Georgia fell to No. 24 South Carolina. As more and more conference games are featured on a weekly basis, the importance of avoiding letdowns is at a premium for Football Bowl Subdivision teams wanting to find themselves in the playoffs at season’s end.

An improved slate of games in Week 4 presents some exciting matchups for NFL hopefuls. Putting quality game tape out for scouts is imperative for players looking to be selected in the 2015 draft. There are many players with opportunities to do that this upcoming week.

Playoffs? Not for the Buffalo Bills unless second-year quarterback EJ Manuel improves greatly upon his rookie season.

The Bills talked all offseason about building around Manuel, and they weren’t lying. The team added running back depth in Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon, two new wide receivers in Sammy Watkins and Mike Williams and upgrades to their offensive line.

Manuel has been given the weapons needed for his improvement. Buffalo’s 2014 season depends on his ability to deliver.

When the Buffalo Bills drafted Dustin Hopkins in the 6th round (No. 177 overall) of the 2013 NFL draft, it meant that Rian Lindell’s job was in danger. After spending his entire rookie season on injured reserve, however, it’s his job that’s in danger going into the 2014 season.
