Fresh off their biggest win of the season, as they beat the Green Bay Packers 21-13 on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills are set to get another boost as arguably their most dynamic offensive player, running back C.J Spiller, is being added back to the team’s active roster from injured reserve with a return designation.

After a week of evaluating his progress, Bills coach Doug Marrone announced Friday that will be on the 53-man team and is probable to play Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

It’s unknown if Spiller will be 100 percent after missing eight weeks with a broken collarbone, or what role he will play in his return to the offense. At the least, he gives the Bills offense—which certainly needs any spark it can get—another weapon to work with in its final two games of the regular season, as Buffalo makes a push for a potential AFC playoff spot.

The Buffalo Bills traveled to Florida for the second time in as many weeks to face a Jacksonville Jaguars team who came in on a three-game winning streak after starting the season with eight straight losses.

The Bills came into the game on a two-game losing streak, while rookie quarterback EJ Manuel was coming off a dreadful, four-interception performance in Buffalo’s Week 14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  This game was a good day for Manuel to rebuild his confidence, however, as the Jaguars came into the game ranked 29th in total defense and 30th in points allowed.

Due to key takeaways by the defense and three Manuel touchdowns, the Bills (5-9) pulled out a 27-20 win against Jacksonville (4-10) Sunday.

The Buffalo Bills (5-9) are not going to get any overwhelming praise for winning against the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-10) Sunday. Their win came against a team that still ranks among the league’s worst, and even so it didn’t come easily, requiring two late holds by the Buffalo defense to preserve a 27-20 advantage.

Nonetheless, any win is a good win at this point in the season for the Buffalo Bills.

The American Buffalo was at risk of becoming endangered. Fullbacks on the Buffalo Bills can relate, as the team hasn’t utilized the position consistently in years.

Former Bills fullback Corey McIntyre had just nine carries over the course of the last five years in which he was the Bills’ fullback.

The tight end position, however, has potential under new Bills offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. The Chan Gailey regime utilized the position more than the last few coaching staffs and in 2013 I’m cautiously optimistic about the position.

Let’s take a closer look at the Bills’ tight ends and fullbacks and how they could perform in 2013.
