In a span of just five days, the Buffalo Bills’ playoff hopes went from soaring to now nearly impossible. After losing to the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday, their latest blow came in a Thursday night loss, 22-9, to the Miami Dolphins. The Bills got outplayed in the second half on both sides of the ball, and couldn’t overcome a couple questionable penalties called against them.

On offense, the struggle continued as Buffalo has now gone nearly two entire games (since the team’s opening drive of its 17-13 loss to Kansas City) without a touchdown. The normally stout defensive unit had an off performance as well, as it had trouble stopping the Dolphins’ quick passing game.

The Buffalo Bills took one on the chin on Sunday, losing 17-13 to the Kansas City Chiefs, moving them down to 10th place and currently out of playoff position in the AFC with a record of 5-4. Ralph Wilson Stadium was buzzing throughout the day, but the home team fumbled away its first-half lead with two costly second-half turnovers.

Once again the Bills defensive unit had a great showing and did more than its part to give the team an opportunity to win, but the offense was a major letdown, especially in the red zone. There were flashes of great play on both sides but overall, defense dominated the day.

The Bills took home their first road win against the New York Jets since 2009 on Sunday, trouncing their divisional foes, 43-23, at MetLife Stadium to finish the first half of the season at 5-3. It was a lively contest in which two Jets quarterbacks combined for six turnovers while both teams combined for 11 punts.

The Buffalo defense graded out very well as it had six different players with a takeaway and another four individuals who pitched in for a quarterback sack. The offense failed to capitalize on great field position on a number of possessions, but rallied to receive some decent grades as a couple players broke out for big performances.

An emotional pregame speech from new owner Terry Pegula turned the Buffalo Bills’ home crowd up, but the team on the field failed to topple the New England Patriots, as the Bills fell to 3-3 while the New England Patriots took a one-game lead in the AFC East. There were many parties who did not perform as well as they needed to for the Bills in their 37-22 loss.
