Waiver Wire Pick-Ups

Mike Glennon, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Owned in 6% of Yahoo! Leagues): With Josh McCown out and Glennon having a five-to-two touchdown-to-interception ratio, Glennon would be a good add this week for those needing to replace Drew Brees on bye. Expect him to be a solid QB2 option each and every week considering how unstable their run game is right now and how much they are likely to be playing from behind.

Brian Hoyer, QB, Cleveland Browns (5% Y!): Despite many raving for Johnny Manziel to be the starting quarterback, Hoyer has been better than decent so far for the Cleveland Browns, with more than 1,000 yards passing and a six-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio, despite having few weapons outside of oft-injured tight end Jordan Cameron. When Cameron gets healthy and Josh Gordon returns in Week 12, expect Hoyer to put up even better numbers. He could be a high-end QB2 come fantasy playoffs time.

Branden Oliver, RB, San Diego Chargers (14% Y!): With Donald Brown now concussed, Ryan Mathews out with a knee injury and Danny Woodhead done for the year with a broken ankle, Oliver will be the lead back in San Diego until Brown and/or Matthews get healthy. After he ran for more than 100 yards and scored rushing and receiving touchdowns against a tough New York Jets run defense, he is a must-add who could easily have another great week as he has an easy matchup against the Oakland Raiders.

Why Robert Woods Should Be The 2013 NFL Draft’s Best Wide Receiver

The Buffalo Bills initially held the No. 8 overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, which was used to select a wide receiver.

That pick was made by the St. Louis Rams, who traded up eight spots with the Bills to select dynamic West Virginia playmaker Tavon Austin.

The Bills could have used that selection on a much-needed wide receiver, but instead waited until the second round. This was a smart move, as a player who will quite possibly be the 2013 draft class’ best wide receiver fell to their spot at the No. 41 overall selection.

USC’s Robert Woods was passed upon for the draft’s 40 picks, which included four wide receiver selections (Austin, Clemson’s DeAndre Hopkins, Tennessee’s Cordarrelle Patterson and Justin Hunter).
