Three days of practices and Saturday’s game later, the 2015 Senior Bowl is complete. More than 100 NFL draft hopefuls, including a number of players with a real chance to be first-round picks, participated in this year’s event in an effort to improve their draft stocks.

While the practices are considered to be more important than the game—and all the Senior Bowl activities still are not considered to be as important as what a player showed in his college career—this past week in Mobile will have a real effect on who goes where and when in the draft this April.

In the following rundown, we take a look at which players had the best and worst weeks in Mobile. Note that the following rankings are not a ranking of the order in which these players should be drafted—they are simply indicative of which players helped or hurt themselves the most with their performances at the Senior Bowl.

The North and South teams returned to Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Thursday for one final day of Senior Bowl practice, and essentially the players’ final chances to make a good impression or change negative perceptions about them, as most NFL scouts, coaches and personnel executives will have left town long before the game is played on Saturday.

Many of Thursday’s standouts, including USC linebacker Hayes Pullard and Miami tight end Clive Walford, had already performed well on Tuesday and Wednesday and simply furthered their draft stock rises by capping off fantastic weeks. On the other end of the spectrum, Colorado State quarterback Garrett Grayson and East Carolina quarterback Shane Carden were among those who failed to take advantage of their opportunities to elevate their draft stocks.

Within the sprint that is the new Senior Bowl schedule, as players have just three days of practices to learn new concepts and impress NFL scouts and coaches, Tuesday is the marathon. From early morning weigh-ins to media night, and practices in between, there were numerous opportunities to get a closer look at each player participating in this year’s game.

The second and third days of practice will be more intense than Tuesday’s opening sessions, as both days will feature players in full pads, but the new, condensed schedule leaves no time for players to waste making an impression, so the first day of practices was certainly an important one.

The class of cornerbacks for the 2015 NFL Draft is one, thus far, that is very undetermined. Many top players have faced injury or off-the-field concerns, and up to this point, there is no definitive No. 1 cornerback for this class. Now that the season has wrapped up for college football, events like the Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine are where rankings can fluctuate, and prospects look to separate themselves from the other competition.

Eric Rowe, a lesser-known and seldom-discussed cornerback out of Utah, has a strong chance to not only be selected on day one of the 2015 NFL Draft but be the first secondary player off the board. A converted safety, Rowe will have a chance to show off his physical and instinctive skills at the Senior Bowl.

From eventual No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher in 2013 to Aaron Donald and Zack Martin last year, there are annual examples of top college football players parlaying a strong week at the Senior Bowl into a higher selection in the NFL draft.

More than 100 prospects will have that opportunity again this year, as Senior Bowl participants will practice in front of scouts, media and fans on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, then play in the game Saturday.

All of the draft candidates among them have a chance to elevate their stocks this week—that’s what Senior Bowl participation is all about. The following 12 players, however, are among those taking part in this week’s festivities who look to be among the most likely to turn heads and work their ways up boards as they compete against their peers in Mobile, Alabama.
