Can you believe the season is entering week nine? Time really flies when you are having fun and football season is truly the most fun time of the year.

The upcoming week’s slate of games lacks the marquee matchups of previous weeks, but plenty of rivalry games and key conference contests await. Teams with playoff aspirations will want to avoid letdowns and the picture is becoming more and more clear as to what the nation’s top prospects’ tools and traits have developed to be. The time to iron out deficiencies is winding down. Putting out solid performances is a must with so much at stake down the stretch for teams and prospects alike.

With six games between top-25 opponents, including three such matchups where both teams are undefeated, Week 6 of the college football season will help shape the landscape for the rest of the season. This will also be a pivotal week for many of the nation’s top NFL prospects who will be showcased in the week’s key games. It will be interesting to see which players emerge and which disappoint. The lights will be shining as bright as they possibly can for midseason games.

With the continued emergence of star tight ends like Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Graham, and Jordan Cameron, NFL teams are seeing the value of having a playmaking tight end to round out their offensive schemes. Having a big-bodied, reliable pass-catching target at tight end is especially important to help teams with young quarterbacks, like the Buffalo Bills, in their development and long term success.

Fortunately for teams like the Bills who could be in the market for a tight end upgrade, this year’s draft class is full of opportunities to draft a tight end with star potential.

Though they might not agree on how to rank the three, most draft prognosticators agree that the top trio of tight end prospects in the 2014 draft class are North Carolina’s Eric Ebron (6’4’’, 245 lbs), Texas Tech’s Jace Amaro (6’5’’, 260 lbs) and Washington’s Austin Seferian-Jenkins (6’6’’, 276 lbs).

If you are looking for a rangy, middle linebacker for a 4-3 defense who can stay on the field every down, the 2014 NFL draft’s senior class is not for you if you miss out on Alabama’s C.J. Mosley.

Mosley is in a class of his own and deserves consideration as a top-20 draft selection. After that, we see a solid group of run-stopping thumpers who could pair with a more athletic player inside in a 3-4 defensive scheme to create a formidable duo, but who project to be two-down players.
