Waiver Wire Pickups

Ryan Tannehill, QB, Miami Dolphins (Owned in 66% of Yahoo! Leagues): Over the past four games for the Dolphins, Tannehill has been terrific. He has thrown for nine touchdowns and run for one touchdown as well while only having two interceptions. Despite having no good connection with Mike Wallace downfield, injuries on his offensive line and a stagnant running game, Tannehill has still put up great numbers. On Monday, he faces a New York Jets secondary that has struggled mightily in passing defense. Tannehill will be a low-end QB1 with the ceiling to be a top-10 QB play this week.

Mark Sanchez, QB, Philadelphia Eagles (52% Y!): Despite having six interceptions in the four games (three-and-a-half if you want to get technical) since taking over as the Eagles’ starting quarterback, he has also thrown seven touchdowns. In his last three games, Sanchez has thrown for two touchdowns in each. This week, he is up against a Cowboys’ defense that just got torched by Eli Manning for 338 yards and three touchdowns. Sanchez will be a mid-tier QB1 play this week.

Isaiah Crowell, RB, Cleveland Browns (59% Y!): With Ben Tate out in Cleveland, the running back situation in Cleveland is more clear. Despite Terrance West out-touching Crowell 15 to 12, Crowell had two touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, and is showing that he is the more dynamic running back for the Browns. Cleveland is still one of the most run-happy offenses in the league and Crowell should get double-digit carries every week, and that might be all he needs to put up solid RB2 numbers on a weekly basis moving forward.

The Buffalo Bills offense started its second half of the season hot, scoring a touchdown on its first possession of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Buffalo hasn’t reached the end zone in nearly 115 minutes of football since.

Already ranked 26th in the NFL in touchdowns per game—and dead last in the NFL in red zone touchdown percentage—coming into the week according to, the Bills offense reached a new low in futility on Thursday night as it failed to score a single touchdown in a 22-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins that leaves Buffalo, now 5-5 for the season, in a spot from which it is highly unlikely to make the playoffs.

Coming off a 27-20 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Buffalo Bills (5-9) will be short-handed as they host the Miami Dolphins (8-6) on Sunday. The Dolphins have a chance to earn a playoff berth if they can win out, but the Bills will be looking to play spoiler and keep some positive momentum building into the offseason. It won’t be an easy challenge for Buffalo, who could be overmatched with rookie quarterback EJ Manuel and others out Sunday.
