These teams already squared off once this season with Tulsa overcoming an early deficit to beat the Cyclones 38-23. They had success despite Iowa State keeping them close to 100 yards under their season rushing average of 240 yards per game. Each of their three backs (Singleton, Watts, and Douglas) have rushed for over 750 yards on the season, and it will be tough for Iowa State to control them as successfully with Knott scheduled to miss this game due to injury. I think familiarity and a switch at quarterback will allow the Cyclones to keep it close, but they won’t be strong enough to stop the Tulsa rushing attack. (more…)

The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl will kick off a quadruple header of college football bowl action on Friday as BYU and Tulsa square off. While there aren’t any top level prospects to watch in this game there are a number of mid to late round guys who could develop into contributors with time and coaching.

What did we notice in Landry Jones that has us questioning his #3 ranking?
One of the biggest QB prospects in the entire country was Landry Jones and we wanted to make sure we got a good look at him early in the season to get a barometer for how much he may have grown from last year and what he still needs to work on. What we discovered was a big red flag that has us now questioning his ranking as our #3 QB in 2013. (more…)
